I’ve never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight
I’ve never seen you shine so bright
I’ve never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance
They’re looking for a little romance, given half a chance
And I have never seen that dress you’re wearing
Or the highlights in your hair that catch your eyes
I have been blind.

The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There’s nobody here, it’s just you and me
It’s where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I’ll never forget the way you look tonight

I’ve never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I’ve never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I’ve never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled, it took my breath away
And I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love, as I do tonight

The lady in red is dancing with me, cheek to cheek
There’s nobody here, it’s just you and me
It’s where I want to be
But I hardly know this beauty by my side
I’ll never forget the way you look tonight

I never will forget the way you look tonight
The lady in red, the lady in red
The lady in red, my lady in red

I love you ….

The Lady in Red

The Lady in Red is a soft rock song by British-Irish singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh, from his eighth studio album Into the Light (1986). The song was written by de Burgh and produced by Paul Hardiman.

The track was released as the second single from the album in June 1986 and propelled de Burgh’s music into the international limelight, hence the album title.

The Lady in Red peaked at number three (3) on the US Billboard Hot 100 while topping the UK Singles chart and charts in five other countries. Its massive success across the world made it de Burgh’s best-selling single and his signature song to date.

La Dama de Ayer

Chris de Burgh

Una vez más de nuevo en el amor;

English (translation)
I had never seen such a beautiful woman in my life,

I wanted to meet her, mmmm
La quise conocer, mmmm

I had never seen her move so soft and sensual,
Jamás la había visto moverse tan suave y sensual,

I wanted to conquer her, over and over again,

Suddenly I realized
De repente me di cuenta,

That the woman that I saw was you,

Only you,
Tan solo tú,

The lady from yesterday is next to me

A) Yes,
Así,

There is no one else, just you and me,
No hay nadie más, solos tú y yo,

Slaves of love,
Esclavos del amor,

And with each kiss we start again
Y con cada beso volvemos a empezar

Once again in love again;
Una vez más de nuevo en el amor;

I had never seen such a beautiful woman in my life,

I loved her with all my being, like never before,

I had never seen her
Jamás la había visto

Move in such a way,
Moverse de forma tal,

Every turn without equal, perfect every time,
Cada vuelta sin igual, perfecta cada vez,

But because I couldn’t realize
Pero porque no pude darme cuenta,

That the woman I wanted was you

Only you
Tan solo tú

The lady from yesterday is next to me

A) Yes,
Así,

There is no one else, just you and me,
No hay nadie más, solos tú y yo,

Slaves of love,
Esclavos del amor,

And with each kiss we start again
Y con cada beso volvemos a empezar

Once again in love again;
Una vez más de nuevo en el amor;

Back in the amoooorrr
De nuevo en el amoooorrr
